Compared to last week: Steers traded mixed. Feeder steers weighing over 750 pounds were mostly 2.00 to 5.00 higher, with instances of up to 10.00 higher on 800 pound steers. Steers weighing less than 750 pounds traded mostly 6.00 to 8.00 to lower, with the largest discounts noted on 600 to 700 pound steers. Light weight steer calves were mostly 20.00 to 30.00 higher on a light test. All classes of heifers traded mostly steady to 3.00 higher. Trading activity was moderate to active on moderate to good buyer demand. Quality ranged from plain to attractive. Slaughter cows were too lightly tested the previous week for a market trend but a much higher undertone was noted. Extreme winds moved into the region causing power outages and several wildfires.
