Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on feeder steers and heifers but a higher undertone was noted. Trading activity was active on good buyer demand. The majority of the supply consisted of big yearlings straight off the wheat. Slaughter cows and bulls traded 2.00 to 5.00 higher. Cash slaughter cattle reached another record high last week, with the majority of the trades selling at the 232.00. Over the weekend, widespread thunderstorms brought additional rainfall with tornados and damaging winds and hail to portions of the panhandle.
