Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to last week: Not enough comparable sales on feeder steers or heifers for a market trend but a sharply higher undertone was noted. Receipts were lighter today due to a cold front moving across the trading region bringing single digit temperatures and snow flurries with it. Despite lighter receipts, quality was very attractive with the majority of the supply consisting of high quality black yearlings straight off the wheat. Trading activity was moderate on moderate to good buyer demand. Not enough comparable sales on slaughter cows and bulls for a market trend.
