Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly 10.00 higher, with the exception of 600 to 650 pound steers which traded 20.00 higher. Steer and heifer calves traded mostly 5.00 to 10.00 higher, with instances of up to 20.00 to 30.00 higher on calves under 450 pounds. Not enough comparable sales on slaughter cows for a market trend. Trading activity was active on very good buyer demand. Quality was once again very attractive with the majority of the supply consisting of large load lots of cattle off of cake and grass. Flesh conditions were favorable on lighter weight cattle.
