Steer and heifer calves traded mostly 2.00 to 5.00 higher, with the exception of steers weighing under 400 pounds which traded 2.00 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly steady. Trading activity was moderate to active on good buyer demand. Quality was mostly attractive with the majority of the supply consisting of yearlings straight off the short grass and several smaller packages of weaned calves. A cold front moved into the region the trading region bringing with it some much needed rain ranging from a half inch to an inch and a half. This should bring a much needed boost to the winter wheat crop.
