Compared to last week: Due to no report last week, there were no comparable sales this week to state a market trend. However; sentiment was definitely on the positive side. Calves and feeders sold well above their counterparts two weeks ago. Buyer interest was active and competitive. Long weaned cattle continue to hold the advantage over fleshy bawlers. No trend to determine on slaughter cows and bulls as well, but a lower undertone was noted. There are more thin, dry cows coming to town off droughty grass, in spite of recent rains in the area. There does seem to be some relief in sight in the future though. It seems that a cool down is in the forecast and we may begin to see normal fall temps.
