Compared to last week: There were too few comparable sales on steer and heifer calves to determine a trend but a higher undertone was noted. Most feeder steers and heifers followed suit, however; 700 pounds was the sweet spot this week. Steers weighing 700-750 were 7.00-8.00 higher and broke the 400/cwt mark. Steers weighing 751-790 averaged 403/cwt. Their heifer counterparts didn't bark 400/cwt but did sell almost 10.00 higher. Quality was mostly good on good demand. Slaughter cattle was mostly steady with a higher undertone on high yielding cattle. Trade was active with good demand.
