Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly 1.00 higher, with the exception of steers weighing over 900 pounds which were 3.00 lower. Not enough comparable sales on steer and heifer calves for a market trend. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Trading activity was moderate to active on good buyer demand. Quality was mostly plain. There are still a few loads of yearlings coming off the wheat moving through the barns, but we saw a lot of yearlings trade before the March 15th deadline this year. As a result, the April and May runs seem to be lighter than a year ago so far.
