Compared to last week: Unweaned new crop calves under 550 lbs weak to 4.00 lower; over 550 lbs 5.00-7.00 lower. Load lots of yearling feeder steers and heifers steady to 1.00 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls 3.00-5.00 lower. Temperatures predicted to be in the low to mid-eighties in the coming days cast a pale on prices for unweaned calves. Slaughter cow and bull prices were hindered by the sheer number of cull cows coming to slaughter plants with waits of up to three weeks reported for producers delivering to these plants. Trade activity was light on light to moderate demand.
