Compared to two weeks ago: Steers 500 - 550lbs, mostly steady; 550 - 650lbs, 5.00 to 7.00 higher; 650 - 700lbs, 10.00 higher; 700 - 750lbs, 14.00 higher. Heifers 450 - 500lbs, mostly steady; 500 - 550, 12.00 lower; 550- 600lbs, 5.00 lower; 600 - 650lbs, 5.00 higher. Demand was very good for this nice offering of mostly home raised, vaccinated and weaned calves. Lots of color today, with reds, Chars, and Herford calves making a great showing. Several packages of heifers were likely headed back to a breeding program, as they either had Bangs vaccinations, or the buyers requested Bangs before loading. Buyers had plenty of large packages to choose from to make loads. The market was very active today, with the seats full of both sellers and buyers along with active internet bidding. The next Feeder Cattle and Replacement Heifer sale will be March 8.
