Compared to last Wednesday's special Spring Calf Sale: Calves 400 - 500 lbs, 16.00 to 18.00 higher; 500 - 550, 24.00 higher; 550 - 600, 12.00 higher. Heifers 400 - 500lbs, 18.00 - 20.00 higher; 500 - 550, 12.00 higher; 550 - 600, 5.00 higher. Good demand today for pot loads and large lots of fully vaccinated calves from reputation breeders. Black hided calves continue to bring premium prices. The market was moderate to active, with most of the regular order buyers in the seats. Warmer weather hit the area, following last week's freezing temps and snow, helping with transportation issues. The next Spring Calf Sale will be November 3, at 8:00 a.m.
