Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 7.00 to 10.00 higher. Very good demand for steers and heifers. The market was very active. 3 full loads of steers, 3 full loads of heifers, balance part loads and stock trailer loads. Quality remains very attractive as the cattle are high quality grading and clean hided. Boxed beef values have been in decline but packer buyers were competing heavily to buy cattle.

Slaughter lambs under 100 lbs steady to 5.00 lower, over 100 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Feeder lambs mostly steady, slaughter ewes steady to firm. Good demand for all weights of slaughter lambs but with the widespread rain last night there were some lambs with wet/muddy fleeces. Good demand for slaughter lambs. Very good demand for feeder lambs as there were many consignments of lambs in light enough flesh to go back to feed with.
