Compared to last week: Slaughter steers and heifers 8.00 to 12.00 higher. Very good demand for this seasonal offering of steers and heifers. The market was very active as bids were easy to find and rolled in quickly. 1 full load of steers, 3 full loads of heifers, balance half loads and stock trailer loads. Cattle continue to weigh very heavy as pens were easy to manage this year and gained efficiently. The quality grade continues very high, packers are willing to take a big carcass in order to get the high grading cattle they need.

Slaughter lambs under 110 lbs 5.00 to 15.00 lower, over 110 lbs mostly steady, except 160 lbs 15.00 higher. Slaughter ewes generally steady. Moderate to good demand for non-traditional weight lambs, improved demand on traditional weights this week. Feeder lamb buyers were present and were active bidders on those lambs under 70 lbs.
