Compared to last week: Fed steers steady to 1.00 lower, heifers to few to make a meaningful comparison. Holsteins to few to make a meaningful comparison. The market continues to soften this week. Discouraging for producer, thinking about refilling yard with higher priced feeders. Demand for this light offering was moderate. Black hided cattle in biggest demand. Slight premium for non implant and drug free cattle. The last few weeks cattle weights have been lighter than we normally see. Very few cattle weighing over 1500 lbs. Estimated dressed weight 290.00 - 294.00. Report came out stating marketing of fed cattle in May totaled 1.95 million, 2% higher than last year at the same time. CME Live Cattle slightly higher, while corn plunged lower. Slaughter cows 1.00 higher. Bulls steady to 1.00 higher.

Traditional weight slaughter lambs 8.00 to 13.00 higher. Demand for this nice offering was good. 120 lbs - 135 lbs seems to be the ideal weight buyers are looking for. Black faced lambs with good fleeces really caught the attention of buyers. Light weight lambs continue to be the biggest offering for the past several weeks. Price on 70 lbs - 90 lb lambs continue to get softer week over week. Large offering of slaughter ewes continues again this week. Price declined 5.00 to 10.00 this week as there is not a shortage of ewes.
