Compared to last week: Slaughter steers 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Heifers steady. Holsteins sold with steady undertones in a very light test. Demand for this light offering of slaughter cattle was moderate. Several small lots along with 2 pot loads of clean eye appealing cattle offered today. Buyers seem to continue looking for cattle that are grading very high quality and will pay premium for them. Consumers are still pushing for high quality cuts in the super market. Grilling season is here! Cows steady to 2.00 higher. Bulls to few to make a meaningful comparison.

Traditional weight slaughter lambs in a light test 1.00 to 8.00 higher. Demand for this nice offering was good. Several internet buyers active today. Light lambs continue to be the majority of the numbers coming into the sale driving those nice, eye appealing slaughter weight lambs higher. Lighter weights were significantly softer this week. The quality of sheep this week was not as desirable as we have seen in weeks past. Some lots of sheep were gaunt and carried a significant amount of tag. Slaughter ewes were steady. There has been a large amount of ewes offered every week keeping the prices lower. Slaughter goat offering light with steady to slightly higher undertones.
