Compared to last week: Fed steers and heifers 1.00 to 2.00 higher in a light test. Demand for this nice offering of slaughter cattle was moderate. Holsteins 2.00 to 5.00 lower. Some cattle carried a fair amount of tag. The weather has made it difficult to keep cattle clean. Cattle marketing were reported down 5% totaling 1.74 million, according to the Cattle on Feed report released last Friday. Black cattle along with Prime grading got the attention of the buyers in the seats today. Slaughter cows steady to 4.00 higher. Bulls 1.00 to 2.00 higher.

Traditional weight slaughter lambs 4.00 to 5.00 higher, new crop lambs are selling with higher undertones. 80 lb - 100 lb lambs are highly sought after. Demand for this nice offering of sheep was good. Slaughter ewes are steady to 5.00 higher. Black face ewes are in high demand. Light weight goats continue to be in high demand this week.
