Compared to last week: Slaughter steers, heifers, and Holstein steers 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Moderate to good demand for this large offering of fed steers and heifers. Many full loads of hard fed, high quality grading steers and heifers. Weighing condition ran from an average weigh-up to full. HIdes were dirty to very dirty overall as the winter weather has feedyard pens in poor condition. Few consignments of clean cattle. Estimated dressed cost looked to be from 189.00-192.00 on the majority of the cattle. Two way buyers not as active this week. More packer buyer participation, yet some buyers still not active. Slaughter cows 1.00 to 2.00 lower, except Breaker cows 2.00 to 4.00 lower compared to Monday, bulls steady.

Slaughter lambs 3.00 to 4.00 lower, slaughter ewes 5.00 to 10.00 higher with instances much higher, feeder lambs not well tested for comparison. Moderate to good demand for slaughter lambs, best demand was seen on those light weight lambs under 100 lbs. Very good demand for slaughter ewes, moderate to good demand for feeder lambs, good demand for bred ewes.
