Too few feeder steers and heifers offered two weeks ago to compare with this week's much larger offering. Good to very good demand for this nice, summertime offering of long strings of yearlings. Many full loads and multiple load lots, as there were several longs strings including one consignment of nearly 1,000 steers. Flesh conditions were varied, from light and attractive, to cattle that were carrying a tick too much. The market was active, the lighter fleshed cattle were easy to sell while those carrying too much flesh was harder to find bids for. CME Live and Feeder Cattle futures made gains today, after last week's decline, but with cash fed cattle in the 240s cattle feeders are concerned about the coming months.
