Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 5.00 higher, except 550-600 lbs 10.00 to 25.00 higher. Feeder heifers mostly steady, except 500-550 lbs and 950-1000 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Very good demand for this very large offering of high quality steers and heifers. Many long strings of home raised steers and heifers, including 1 consignment of 950 head of steers and heifers. Many full loads and multiple load lots. Flesh condition moderate to heavy at times, cattle have been able to easily gain weight as the winter was mild until this last week where temps fell to -20 and wind chills of -40. Farmer feeders remain very active bidders. The market was very active throughout the sale as optimism is building as the cash fed cattle market moves to 236.00 and Cattle On Feed reports continue to show fewer cattle on feed, and fewer placed on feed compared to last year.
