Compared to last week: Spring born steer and heifer calves sold with sharply higher undertones, yearling steers and heifers too narrowly compared for a good comparison as this week's yearlings were of different weights from last week. Very good demand for spring born calves, many buyers were on the seats ready to bid and the calves were attractive and light fleshed, several consignments were weaned about 30 days, the market was very active. Good demand for yearling steers and heifers. A couple of long strings offered in full loads and multiple loads lots, most were offered in packages and half loads. Flesh condition ranged from light to moderate plus. The yearling trade was active, helped along by sharp gains in the cattle futures complex.
