Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 600 lbs mostly steady, 600-800 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower, over 800 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Feeder heifers under 700 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower, over 700 lbs steady to 5.00 lower. Good demand for this very large offering of high quality steers and heifers, many long strings, including full loads and multiple load lots, along with plenty of smaller packages to put together to make loads of. The market was active but the bids didn't roll in as fast as they did in prior weeks. A lower cash cattle trade that topped at 208.00, but reports of 203.00 by Friday, along with the sharp downturn in the futures the last half of last week put pressure on the feeder cattle market. Gains of 3.50 in the Feeder Cattle futures, 1.00-1.45 gains in the Live Cattle today, helped to ease cattle feeders' minds and the market at the auction strengthened as the sale progressed. Flesh conditions ranged from mostly moderate to moderate plus.
