Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves sold with higher undertones, comparison too narrow. Yearling feeder steers sold with higher undertones, heifers not well compared. Very good demand for steer and heifer calves, this week's calf offering was more attractive, overall quality was better and buyers were willing to push the market higher to get these calves bought. Very good demand for a really fancy set of 6 loads of black hided, moderate fleshed yearling steers. The market was very active on the yearlings. The cash fed cattle market at 186.00 last week, but cattle feeders were ready to compete heavily on yearlings that looked like they would gain efficiently.
