The Sioux Falls area has continued to be bombarded with large snow accumulations and blowing winds. The sale today had less numbers but good cattle. CME futures continue to be on the positive side. Compared to the sale last week: steers 700-750 lbs were steady to 1.00 higher, lighter steers mostly 13.00 higher. Heavier steers 800 lbs 4.00 higher. Light heifers 600 lbs were 6.00 lower, 650-750 lbs mostly steady. Many packages of light and heavier cattle in the offering today, including numerous groups of yearlings. Good demand throughout the sale. Next week there will be two feeder cattle sales on Monday, January 22 and Tuesday, January 23.
