Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers 5.00 to 10.00 lower, except 800-850 lbs steady. The feeder cattle market was under severe pressure this week due to the CME Live Cattle and Feeder Cattle futures trading limit lower. The market was tough today but the market was also rather active. The bids had to start sharply lower but rose higher quickly as there were plenty of buyers who were willing to buy cattle today. There were lots of small packages of light cattle under 600 lbs, some fresh off the cow, that found plenty of outlets as these cattle are getting harder to find. There were many longs strings as well of cattle over 600 lbs, including full loads and multiple load lots, flesh was moderate to moderate plus. There was plenty of quality on offer but the bearishness projected from the futures complex had cattle feeders looking to buy cattle at lower prices. Slaughter cows and bulls steady.
