Compared to last week: Feeder steers under 600 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 higher with instances to 10.00 higher, over 600 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Feeder heifers traded very unevenly, under 500 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 higher, 500-600 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 lower, 600-700 lbs steady to 3.00 higher, over 700 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Good to very good demand for this very large offering of feeder cattle. There were 130 consignors this week, many small bunches and packages yet there were also a good number of long strings and full loads in the offering. Buyers were just as willing to chase the market on the small packages as they were on the full loads. Quality was attractive throughout. There was a very large supply of steers and heifers under 650 lbs and this was where the market was the most active. The flesh on the light cattle was rather light overall, moderate to moderate plus on the heavier, feedlot ready cattle. There were many farmer feeders on the seats, actively bidding ready to buy these good cattle. Slaughter cows and bulls 3.00 to 5.00 lower.
