Compared to last week's much smaller sale: Feeder steers steady to 2.00 lower, except 700-750 lbs 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Feeder heifers steady to 4.00 higher, except 500-600 lbs 5.00 to 8.00 higher. Moderate to good demand for this very large offering of calves and yearlings. Improved demand for heifers this week which helped to narrow the price spread between steers and heifers, cattle feeders weren't willing to chase the steer calf market as high as they did last week With a lot of farmer feeder buyers on the seats and plenty of packages and some long strings to bid on, there was plenty of high quality cattle to choose from. Flesh condition of calves was light to moderate with just a couple consignments of over fleshed calves. The winter has been rough so far and has really greened the calves up. There were some long strings of yearlings offered in full loads and multiple load lots in a moderate to heavy amount of flesh and sold on a very active market. The market was rather active on calves and got more active as the sale progressed. Many weaned calves this week, nearly all were fully preconditioned. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 3.00 lower compared to last Wednesday, bulls sold with a lower undertone.
