Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers 5.00 to 10.00 higher, instances to 12.00 to 13.00 higher over 1050 lbs, except 750-800 lbs steady to 1.00 higher. Feeder heifers steady to 3.00 higher in a narrow comparison. Very good demand for light fleshed yearling steers, only moderate for heifers and for steers in heavier flesh. Several long strings of yearlings offered this week as full load lots and multiple load lots, including one reputation consignment of nearly 900 light fleshed steers out of a growing yard. Cattle feeders were on the seats and ready to get cattle bought to refill their empty pens. Lower Feeder Cattle futures and a sideways trading Live Cattle contract had no effect on the very active trade at the auction. As the cash fed cattle managed to trade steady to firm last week cattle feeders were willing to pay more to buy these attractive yearlings. Slaughter cows 2.00 to 3.00 higher than last Wed, bulls 4.00 to 5.00 higher.
