Sale not recently reported due to seasonally low receipts, therefore no market comparison may be made. Good Demand in the seats and on the Internet for Several Load Lots and Many Packages of Feeder Steers, Feeder Heifers, and Tested Open Heifers which all sold on a Moderate to Active Market during today's Special Anniversary Sale. The Offering was Attractive and varied from Light to Moderate Flesh, with much of the Offering being Home Raised Cattle. All the cattle expressed clean, open hair, mostly with a favorable weighup. Recent Futures volatility and heat in Cattle Feeding Country combined with the announcement of plans for Mexican Cattle to be allowed to enter the country certainly all put pressure on the market, yet many of the buyers left owning some cattle with an instance where multiple loads were offered as buyer's choice with a 25 pound spread in the loads and the buyer took both loads, which I thought was noteworthy. The next Feeder Cattle Sale is August 11, a Yearling Special. Much of the surrounding country is dry so the Barn is expecting to start seeing some Spring Calves offered sometime in September.
