Compared to last week: steer calves under 500 lbs not well compared, 501 to 550 lbs mostly steady, 551 to 700 lbs 4.00 to 9.00 higher. Best test on heifers 550 to 600 lbs 5.00 higher with other weight classes of heifers not well compared. Very good demand for calves again this week. The feature consignment was a ranch selling 750 head of fancy black calves in loads and these saw excellent demand. The rest of the offering sold in packages, both weaned and unweaned calves available. Quality similar to last week with many attractive calves to choose from, most of these had their shots. An active market with many buyers and a few farmer feeders in the seats today. This is the final feeder cattle sale of 2021, next feeder cattle sale is Thursday, January 6 2022. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
