About twice as many feeder cattle today as last week. Compared to last week: best test on steer calve 500 to 550 lbs steady to 3.00 higher, 600 to 650 lbs and 700 to 750 lbs mostly steady. Heifer calves not well tested last week for comparison. Good to very good demand for this large offering featuring Red Angus cattle with best demand seen for several loads and packages of replacement quality heifers and calves which will fit grass programs. Varied quality on the offering but mostly average to attractive. Flesh also varied, from light to moderate plus. A couple packages of un weaned calves again today. These calves are very green after the tough weather last week and having to compete with their mothers for feed. An active market with order buyers, farmer feeders, producers, and bull breeders all interested in procuring cattle. Warmer weather this week giving some much needed relief after the blizzard and very cold temps last week. Next feeder cattle sale is next Thursday, January 30.
