Reporter comment USDA

As filed

Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers 10.00 higher, heifers 5.00 higher. Very good demand for this nice, summertime, offering of yearling steers and heifers. Many long strings offered in full loads and multiple load lots of steers and heifers. Flesh conditions ranged from very light flesh right off grass, to feedyard backgrounded in moderate to heavy flesh at times. The market was active as the Feeder Cattle futures contracts were sharply higher on the start of the sale. Cattle feeders continue to feel very bullish about the market as we are in the dog days of summer and the fat market is about 20.00 above the spot month of August. No sale next week, next sale will be July 24, 2025 expecting 2,000 feeders starting at 9:00 am.
