Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 900 to 949 lbs mostly steady. Best test on yearling heifers 850 to 949 lbs mostly steady with instances up to 4.00 higher on 850 to 899 lbs. Steer and heifer calves not well compared this week. Very good demand for today's large offering of yearlings. Many strings, loads, and packages on offer, a large portion of these coming off grass. Flesh condition ranged from light to moderate plus with many attractive cattle to choose from. An active market as the run of yearlings is almost over and supplies are very tight. Moderate to good demand for calves today which sold mostly in packages with just a few load lots. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. Calves had assorted shot records again this week and are sometimes discounted for lack of a good shot record. A moderate to active market on calves. Quite a few farmer feeders in the seats this week, the moisture early in the week has slowed harvest. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, November 4.
