Compared to last week: steers 650 to 949 lbs 3.00 to 10.00 higher except 800 to 849 lbs not well compared, 950 to 999 lbs 6.00 to 9.00 lower. Heifers 600 to 699 lbs mostly steady, 700 to 749 lbs 6.00 to 10.00 higher. A nice line up of feeders again this week. Several backgrounded strings as well as loads and packages of home raised cattle on offer, including a few replacement heifers. Similar to recent weeks, light fleshed cattle for backgrounding and replacement heifers see very good demand, finishing type cattle see good to very good demand depending on flesh. A mostly mild winter has made it fairly easy for cattle to gain and some cattle are carrying quite a bit of flesh. A few inches of snow mixed with temps in the 40's and 50's this week have made yards muddy again, most cattle showed some tag from these conditions. An active market with mostly order buyers in the seats again this week. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, March 11.
