Compared to last week: best test on steers 950 to 999 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher on a narrow comparison. Best test on heifers 850 to 899 lbs mostly steady. All other weight classes of steers and heifers not well compared. Good to very good demand for this offering with best demand seen for cattle off grass. A couple strings of steers and quite a few loads and packages available, lots of tested open heifers coming to town as producers get done ultrasounding. Flesh varied again this week, from light to moderate plus as cattle came both off grass and out of yards, more grass cattle today than seen last week. An active market seen for this offering, however, the drive to simply own cattle has cooled somewhat in recent weeks. Most of the area saw some more rain over the weekend. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, August 23.
