No sale last week due to the weather, compared to two weeks ago: best test on steer calves 550 to 600 lbs mostly steady, best test on yearling steers 850 to 900 lbs and 950 to 1000 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 lower. Best test on heifer calves 550 to 600 lbs 4.00 to 5.00 lower, yearling heifers not well compared. Good demand seen for yearlings today which sold mostly in strings and loads. Less flesh on the yearlings than two weeks ago as the weather has been really tough the last ten days. Quality varied quite a bit, from plain to attractive. Calves met with moderate to good demand. Mostly packages offered, with about half of the calves being weaned. Flesh mostly light to moderate, again the tough weather is keeping calves greener. A moderate to active market with lighter attendance today. Bitter cold and dangerous wind chills for the next couple days as well as another round of snow will impact travel and make it miserable for livestock and their caretakers. Most producers are still digging out from last weeks' four day blizzard. No feeder cattle sale next week, this was final feeder cattle sale for 2022.
