Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 900 to 950 lbs steady with other weight classes of yearling steers and heifers not well compared. Mostly good demand for yearlings today. A few strings as well as many loads and packages made up the yearling offering. Less cattle coming off grass this week, more flesh overall on the cattle than last week. Quality varied on yearlings, from plain to attractive. Many packages and just a few loads made up today's calf offering which was met with mostly moderate demand. Calf quality varied, from plain to attractive. A couple weaned packages but the majority of the calves were off the cow and most had full preconditioning or at least one full round of fall shots. An active market on yearlings, moderate to active on calves with mostly farmer feeders interested in these. Corn harvest has been completed in many areas. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, November 9.
