Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 900 to 950 lbs mostly steady, other weight classes of yearlings and yearling heifers not well compared. Calves too lightly tested last week to compare to today's large calf offering. Good to very good demand for yearling cattle again this week with best demand seen for cattle still coming off grass. Flesh varied again this week, from moderate to heavy. A larger calf offering than last week met with moderate to good demand, mostly depending on shots. Calves with full preconditioning, or at least a full round of fall shots saw good to very good demand, calves with spring shots, even if it was a full round in the spring see moderate to good demand, sometimes light demand if it was just a 7 way in the spring. This report demonstrates a wider range of prices reflecting preconditioning. Flesh on calves mostly light to moderate plus. An active market on yearlings with order buyers interested, a moderate to active market on calves with buyers as well as some farmer feeders interested in calves today. This is the first dry Wednesday in four weeks and dry weather is expected to continue for the next week at least, with temperatures in the 60's predicted for the weekend. Harvest is slowly wrapping up in this area. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, November 10.
