Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 850 to 900 lbs 2.00 to 4.00 higher, 950 to 1000 lbs steady to 1.00 lower. Best test on yearling heifers 800 to 850 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Calves too lightly tested last week for comparison. Good to very good demand for yearlings again this week. Several strings and many loads and packages to choose from, both off grass and out of yards, flesh mostly light to moderate plus. Many packages and several loads of spring calves were met with good demand. Roughly a third of the calf offering was weaned, most over 50 days. The majority of the offering had full preconditioning, those without see decreased demand. Flesh on calves varied, from light to moderate plus with some heavy flesh at times. An active market for seen today's offering, both buyers and some farmer feeders in the seats. Rain and colder temps all day today in this area with colder temps to last the rest of the week. Muddy conditions in yards and fields with many producers still struggling to finish harvest. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, October 27.
