Compared to last week: best test on steers 750 to 800 lbs and 1000 to 1050 lbs mostly steady. Heifers not well compared today. Good to very good demand for today's offering of several strings and loads and many packages which sold on an active market. Quality varied, loads and strings being mostly average to attractive in quality, and packages mostly plain to average. Similar to recent weeks, cattle came both off grass and out of yards. Flesh varied from light to moderate plus. Very hot and dry conditions have persisted in the area for the last several weeks. Fall crops have really started to show heat stress and many producers have already chopped their corn. Next feeder cattle sale is Wednesday, September 2.
