Compared to last week: yearling steers 800 to 1050 lbs steady with instances 2.00 higher except 950 to 1000 lbs not well compared. Heifers 850 to 950 lbs steady,. Other weight classes yearling steers and heifers and spring calves not well compared. Good to very good demand for today's large yearling offering featuring many strings, loads, and packages including several strings of attractive quality steers from reputation outfits, many of these were home raised. Flesh varied, from light to moderate plus with some heavy flesh at times, as cattle came both out of feed yards and off grass . Some tag on these yearling cattle, as even load out conditions are muddy. Moderate to good demand for several loads and packages of spring calves. Calf quality today mostly attractive and flesh varied, from ligh to moderate plus. Preconditioning varied again, and calves without a full vaccination program were discounted. Both weaned and unweaned calves available today. Market activity active for this large offering. Next feeder cattle sale is next Wednesday, October 30.
