Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 1000 to 1049 lbs steady, other weight classes of yearling steers and heifers not well compared. Too few calves last week to develop an accurate price trend. Good demand for yearlings with best demand for yearlings off grass. Mostly strings and loads of yearling cattle offered today, many of these coming out of feed yards and carrying some flesh. A large calf offering featuring a handful of loads and many packages, all coming off the cow. Most calves had at least one full round of shots and many were fully preconditioned. Mainly light to moderate plus flesh on the calves and quality varied, from plain to attractive. A moderate to active market on yearlings, moderate on calves with plenty of pressure from the large drop in the futures complex today. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, November 6.
