A much lighter offering than last week with best test on steers 700 to 749 lbs steady to 3.00 lower and 900 to 949 lbs 10.00 to 15.00 lower. Heifers 600 to 699 lbs 8.00 to 10.00 higher. Today's offering featured home raised cattle selling mostly in packages and a couple strings of backgrounded steers. Light fleshed cattle suitable for grass or backgrounding operations see good to very good demand while finishing type cattle, especially those carrying flesh or tag see moderate demand. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. A moderate to active market with the usual order buyers and a few farmer feeders in the seats. Recent uncertainty in the futures complex has put pressure on the market and buyers are much more cautious than they had been several weeks ago. A winter storm in the forecast for this weekend with up to 10 inches of snow expected in some areas as well as high winds. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, March
