Compared to last week: steers 450 to 499 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher, 500 to 549 lbs and 600 to 649 lbs mostly steady, 550 to 599 lbs 6.00 to 8.00 higher. Best test on heifers 500 to 599 lbs mostly steady. Yearling steers and heifers not well compared. Good demand for a few yearlings today. Just a couple loads and a few packages offered, flesh and quality varied. Good to very good demand for calves today. A couple loads offered but most of the offering sold in packages. About a quarter of the calves were weaned, from a week to long time weaned, with the rest coming off the cow. Quite a variety in preconditioning but most calves had at least one full round. Quality varied, from plain to attractive. An active market with farmer feeders and buyers in the seats hoping to fill pens before the holiday break. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, December 20, this will be the last feeder cattle sale of 2024.
