Compared to the large BBQ sale two weeks ago: best test on steers 800 to 849 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 higher, 850 to 899 lbs and 950 to 999 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 lower, 900 to 949 lbs steady to 2.00 higher. Best test on heifers 750 to 799 lbs mostly steady. Good to very good demand for today's offering of mostly strings and loads of backgrounded steers and a couple packages of home raised cattle. Flesh varied, mostly moderate plus overall. Quality mostly attractive on loads and strings, more varied quality on packages, from plain to attractive. An active market with buyers taking multiple loads of cattle quite a few times when offered. Feeder and live cattle futures lower again today, buyers seem to pay little attention to this and are wanting cattle in their pens to market later this summer and fall. Pairs sold after feeder cattle with many producers in the stands interested in buying pairs, grass conditions for the area look very good so far this summer. Watch local listings for the next feeder cattle sale.
