Compared to last week: best test on steers 500 to 549 lbs and 600 to 649 lbs mostly steady, best test on yearling steers 900 to 999 lbs and 1050 to 1099 lbs 15.00 to 20.00 lower. Heifers 400 to 549 lbs 3.00 to 6.00 lower. A very large yearling offering this week featuring many strings and loads and a few packages. Moderate to good demand for yearlings with demand improving throughout the sale. More flesh on yearlings this week, and some tag at times. Quality varied, but mostly average to attractive. Mostly good demand for calves today. Just a couple loads and many packages for the calf offering, A few less colored cattle than last week and more calves with all their shots, as well as a few more weaned consignments. Flesh mostly light to moderate. A moderate to active market on yearlings and calves with both buyers and farmer feeders in the seats. The futures had a positive day today and there seemed to be a bit more optimism in the calf market. Very windy conditions and some snowfall this afternoon could make for icy road conditions. Net feeder cattle sale is Friday, December 15, this will be the last sale of 2023.
