Compared to last week: best test on steers 850 to 949 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher, 950 to 999 lbs mostly steady. Heifers not well compared again this week. Two long strings of steers made up the majority of today's yearling offering with a few loads from other consignors sprinkled in. Most cattle were off grass but flesh still varied a bit, mostly light to moderate with some moderate plus at times. Quality similar to last week with most cattle average to attractive in quality. An active market with buyers eager to own cattle. Widespread rain over the weekend led to muddy conditions, a little more tag on the cattle today even coming off grass. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, August 18, expecting 3000 head.
