Compared to last week: best test on yearling steers 900 to 950 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 lower, 951 to 1000 lbs mostly steady. Yearling heifers not well compared. Steer calves 450 to 600 lbs and heifer calves 500 to 600 lbs unevenly steady. Good demand for loads, strings, and a few packages of yearlings included in today's offering. Quality on yearlings varied, from plain to attractive, and most were in moderate to moderate plus flesh. Moderate to good demand for today's calf offering. Some loads offered but the majority of the calf offering sold in packages. Quality varied, from plain to attractive, and most of the calves were in light to moderate flesh. Preconditioning was all over the map with some calves having full preconditioning and others having none. Buyers are not eager to buy calves which have not had at least one good round of shots and this report shows the price spread and discounts for calves without a shot record. An moderate to active market seen for this offering with mostly order buyers attending the sale today, farmers are taking advantage of this week's warm weather to catch up on fall work or finish harvesting. Next feeder cattle sale is Friday, November 13.
