Compared to last week: Not enough yearling to make a price comparison, steer calves from 400 lbs to 449 lbs and steer calves from 550 lbs to 649 lbs were 10.00 to 15.00 lower, steer calves from 450 lbs to 549 lbs were 6.00 to 8.00 lower, heifer calves from 400 lbs to 449 lbs were 10.00 to 15.00 lower, heifer calves from 450 lbs to 549 lbs were steady to 4.00 lower. A nice run of yearling steers and heifers for todays sale, coming off pasture and the bulk of the cattle being tested open replacement heifers. Yearling sold on a moderate to active market with flesh conditions ranging from light to moderate flesh. A big run of calves for todays sale with most having two rounds of vaccinations and coming right off the cow, there were a couple consignments of weaned calves. Many load lots with plenty of part loads and packages available to make loads. An active market with a house full of buyers competing with internet buyers. Calves were attractive for quality and most were fairly clean considering the muddy conditions in the area. A rough day in the futures market and the financial market caused concern for potential buyers. Next feeder sale is scheduled for Friday November 6, 2026, expecting a large run of high quality yearling and calves.
