Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers 700-800 lbs 5.00 to 15.00 higher, over 850 lbs steady to 2.00 higher. Feeder heifers steady to firm. Very good demand for this nice, summertime offering of fall born calves and yearling steers and heifers, including bangs vaccinated replacement quality heifers. Many long strings of yearlings, offered in full loads and multiple load lots, including 1 string of 800 steers offered in 13 loads of one cut. Flesh condition was really attractive, including those that were feedyard backgrounded. Severe drought conditions are causing some producers to pull cattle off early and ship to town. The market was very active, as cattle feeders are able to sell their fat cattle at profitable levels, and want to get their pens refilled with these good, green cattle while they are available.
