Compared to two weeks ago: best test on steers is from 800 lbs to 899 lbs were mostly 2.00 to 6.00 higher, lighter weight classes had lower undertones on limited comparisons; heifers from 600 lbs to 749 lbs were steady with instances of 6.00 higher, heifers from 700 lbs to 799 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 lower, heifers from 800 lbs to 849 lbs were 4.00 to 6.00 higher. No other comparisons available. Muddy roads in the area caused several cancellations, although there was still a large run of cattle for todays auction. Plenty of fall calves, weaned or unweaned offered mostly in part loads and packages. Multiple consignments of reputation replacement heifers were offered in multiple loads, up to 6 loads in the same sort. Bigger background cattle destined for the finishing yard were in very good demand with multiple consignments offered in multiple loads, with two consignments of 9 loads of the same sort. Flesh conditions ranged from light fleshed cattle that had been turned out on pasture to moderate plus coming out of a grow yard. A very active market on all classes of cattle with internet buyers competing with the order buyer and farmer feeders that were in attendance. Best demand was on the light fleshed cattle suitable for summer grazing operations. Much needed moisture in the area has been very welcomed by producers as prospects for summer grazing is greatly improved, with more moisture forecasted for the weekend. Cattle on feed report this afternoon came out about as projected. Have a good Memorial weekend and Thank You Veterans for your service. Next feeder sale will be June 6th, the 28th annual WLAC Anniversary Sale, expecting over 12,000 cattle.
